Something has been bothering me, and although the animal is not a ferret,
they were next to the ferrets in the pet store and thus it becomes ferret
related. [umm... that's pushing the limit a bit! BIG]

I have dicussed the mall petstore here before. My hubby and I hold our
breath and run in and out as fast as we can sometimes, just so we can do
a little whisper campaign about the breeds for sale.

One time they had an albino Doberman marked "RARE BREED"..ugh. Well, the
other day, We saw normal guinea pigs with the rabbits, then up on the
counter, in an aquarium, with some kind of glowing red heat lamp were these
awful, naked guinea pigs. They were marked in neon "Skinny Pigs". They
were hairless except for some white whiskers around their "muzzles" and
they had red eyes. To me, this was a genetic nightmare..yet the pet store
was capitalizing on them by giving a name to the "breed". I am ignorant on
guinea pig issues, but this didn't look normal - are people breeding this??
I have a sense they were also trying to get on the Mr. Bigglesworth
bandwagon for those that wanted a guinea pig version of the hairless Rex
cat.

I dread the day I go in the store and see a hairless adrenal ferret being
sold as an "Exotic Suede Ferret"...

Just wanted to share this freakish event with others...I'm awaiting the
nightmares.

Sincerely, Stephanie, Chimi & Pepe
