Carinne,
 
Vanilla is an only child, too.  She does the same paw-tuck and body-slide
on the floor, staring up at me with her big red eyes as if to say "Ok,
entertain me because I'm BORED."  Normally, I'll pick her up and give her
a kiss or scratch behind the ears then set her back down.  Sometimes it
helps, other times...
 
I think she's normal.  Probably just wondering what to do next.
