It isn't hard.  Get a piece of plywood for the under side.  Most hardware
stores will cut a sheet down to the size you need .  Drill holes for the
legs and the under side is done ( except for the once in a while check
from the diggers digging at it).  For fabric couches sew the cushion
together .  For a leather couch place a sheet over it.one and staple it
down and it deters tiny hands and feet from making a nice size whole in
the new couch.  Clara loves the extra hanging on the floor cause she can
hide for the famous sneak attack.
