I can't help wondering whether this might be from some insurance companies
having ferrets misclassafied as "wild" and/or "dangerous" animals.  If the
premium sounds high, you could ask what a comparable policy for a dog or cat
event would be-maybe all that is needed is some education or documentation
to bring the policy cost down.
