puppy pad replacer?

I've been using a puppy pad in front of the litter boxes for the
ferrets to wipe their rears on after they use the litter box. I'd like
to use something else, as the ones I've been getting are not
biodegradable. Does anyone have some Earth friendly suggestions on what
I could use?
