My first and only personal ferret was a lone ferret. I had her for about
four years before I started up our local shelter and rescue. I tried for
three years to find her a friend that she liked, but she didn't like any!
I tried different ferrets that had come through the shelter, but she was
determined to be the "lone ferret" of the house. I believe that most
ferrets are very social critters and enjoy the company of others, but as
long as you give your ferret lots of attention it is not a requirement to
have a buddy.
