Hi Terrance ~

This has been an ongoing topic here at the farm. PVC piping is made of
a plastic compound. Taking my natural health courses we did a lot of
environmental contamination work, and plastic is a contaminating compound
because it can offgas. You can tell if it is offgassing when it is in
the store, if it has a very strong offending odor. This is not properly
prepared plastic and can be toxic in a home environment. My rule of
thumb, if I can smell it in the store, it does not come home.

I either roll up a small area rug for her, or use a long cardboard tube
used for mailing out maps, etc.

Hope this helps ~
Mary
