Today I moved into the realm of high tech, I got hooked up with a cable
modem and fast, fast fast service. Yippee!!!

When the cable man got here, he was greeted by me and 4 ferrets. Maxwell
always helps me answer the door, it is his job. He stands right on the
threshold so that no one may pass without his approval. He had 3 sentries
in training this morning, Miss Treska, PhillyCheeseSteak and Miss Natasha.

Well, unfortunately for Missy Girl, a.k.a. Miss Thang, a.k.a. Miss Natasha
she had to go up. I don't trust her completely around strangers even
though she is doing so ever much better. Besides she is about the smartest
one I have and it gets scary sometimes trying to keep ahead of her.

PhillyBeefandSwiss (as Auntie Cath calls him) climbed up onto my desk, to
help the installer and Kane the cat get everything hooked up.

Several minutes into it, and much scritching and petting from the
installer, I am standing on the far side of my desk. Now mind you, my desk
is sitting in what should be a den, one large room with the dining area
and kitchen on the other end. I casually look down while telling the nice
installer man about ferts (he has been wanting one) when I see this blur of
creme go by with a large pink bubble wrapped item hanging out her mouth.

Miss Treska is a small fierce little woman. She is short but stout and
is smart and stubborn to boot. I can't catch her as she is darting in and
out from under various pieces of furniture, but manage to grab her tail.
I pick her up from the tail tip, dangling away, with the aforementioned
bubble wrapped item still hanging between her teeth. By the barest of
corners.

So I casually walk over to the nice installer man who has to play tug o war
with Miss Chucklebutt to get the "prize" back into his possession.

Now he sits there putting it back up (no, I have no idea what it was). To
put it back up he has to open up the bag it was in, on the floor. Bag was
still shut. He couldn't believe that she had managed to get into it, and
get out with her prize.

I told him that was the hard part about living with ferrets. ;-)
