Hi all,
Just a few questions: If one's ferrets didn't recieve their vaccines (i.e
rabies/distemper) as kits, what should one do? A friend of mine has 2
ferrets with unknown vaccine historys. We are assuming that each recieved
its first rabies at the breeder (both are pet store bought) since she
recalls being told that bby the previous owner. Other than that, we don't
know anything.

#2 I am going to be getting a 6 month old kitten in about 1.5 weeks. She
has been living outdoors/garaged for about 2 weeks. Before I take her into
my home, we are going to the vet. I will be having her tested for FIV, FLV
and getting her vaccines started. She wasn't a stray until 2 weeks ago when
her student owners left her (I feel so ashamed, giving my kind a bad name)
so I am sure she is fairly healthy but I may be being too nice. Is there
anything I should have the vet look for/test for that could hurt my ferts?

#3 I saw something about the Ferret show here in Michigan in November which
I would like to take Chloe and Sabrina too. However, I do my own
vaccinations (right now, I buy them at Soldan's, a feed/supply pet store).
What should I do about the required certification? I am going to look into
buying them at school (MSU's College of Vet. Medicine) when classes start
back up bbut if I can't buy them there, I don't know what to do.

Thanks!
-Courtney
