Hello Everyone,

I had posted about a month ago about Scully's death from lymphosarcoma.
I was very upset at the time and needed to vent; and as always the FML
provided me not only with an outlet, but also with a great deal of
well-wishers. Some of them wrote to offer their condolences and some of
them also told me their own stories. I did not write back immediately as
it was several weeks before I could read any of the letters or think about
Scully without bursting into tears. I also knew that I would finally be
getting a home computer, and was putting off replying until I could do so
in privacy and on my own time.

I went to look in the 'Scully' folder yesterday so I could get a start on
writing thank-you notes, and it was empty. It seems that our mail system
has been set to delete saved mail after two weeks. SO..if you wrote me,
and I didn't write back, please forgive me and know that every single email
I received meant a tremendous amount to me. I know that I don't always
have time to write to those who have lost their fuzzies, although I always
think about it. THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart. And THANK YOU,
Bob C., for providing the ferret community with such a valuable resource.

On other fronts, all is well. My eight-year-old ferret Elie has responded
very well to treatment with Lupron by Dr. Weiss, and is growing FUR again!
:) My five-year-old Pepe is recovering nicely from adrenal surgery. We
still miss Scully; when I put the ferrets away I always count to four and
then think, "that can't be right, there should be five", but as they say,
life goes on and I'm putting all my energy into taking care of the
remaining four.

Regards,

Gail Shochet
..and Elie Wiesel, Pepe, Kiaya, and Pixel
