I suppose some people could argue the rightful use of fitch fur, as there
are those with similar rationalizations for much of the less than critical
use of research ferrets. However, for me you bring up a troubling concern.

Yes, much of this "controversy" is rooted in the apparent "closed door"
policy of Marshall's own making. Additionally, Judith Bell, DVM, who at one
time worked with Marshall, has been silenced from making any negative
remarks. On the other hand, it keeps much of what we hear uncertain. This
could easily be a plus for Marshall if they were involved in poor practices.
In a later post, I will state clearly what these concerns are that I am
aware of, along with their status according to my reconnaissance.

Well, this is what happens when people get trashed or at least feel they
have. I agree, my information according to another large retailer indicates
a "shipping age" of about 4.5 - 5 weeks, and land in the store at the age
you stated. I have yet to confirm any earlier deliveries, but if anyone has
any information contrary to this, please forward this information to me.
However, by many measures, this is still far too premature for separation
from mother, the intake of dry food, etc..

Brian, thanks for your sincere and thoughtful response. You know, this
round has so far been much less aggressive than many recent topics. Perhaps
we are getting the message you so aptly stated.

best wishes,
until next time,
