Pam's right!!! State laws make complete sense! This is a wonderful way to
tackle the issue.

>1. Require that no... companion animal... be sold to the public until it
>is 8 weeksof age.
>2. Require that any USDA licensed facility which sells domesticated
>companion animals ...to the public, only sell neutered animals.

I have several things away from the FML taking up a LOT of my time right now
(so I haven't had the time I need for some other projects including one
which partly addresses a portion of this this from another vantage point --
and which is mainly Sharon and Linda's ball), but if folks in N.J. want to
work together toward this I could do a bit of stuff on and off from home as
I am happy to do with the existing projects when time allows, maybe with me
doing more things later. We had a good group with loads of contacts when we
were working toward legislation before the Compendium came out so perhaps
that foundation could be partly used. Shall we talk possible wording?
Paul's retired from F,G&W so we'd need to work up one or more new contacts
there, but that's not likely to be a problem since we have a good department
there.

Juliana got through to the Georgia site last night and they had the OLD
Compendium stuff up but NOT the 1998 stuff with quarantine times instead of
death after their webpage down-time. D--n! The site is at
http://www.ph.hdr.state.ga.us
so if anyone here sees it corrected, please, contact Juliana and/or me ASAP.
Juliana was shouldering this, but she's an extremely busy shelter mom with
much more besides to do, so that is unfair to her.
