Okay, time for me to put in my words on this...

Rosa and Rocky had their vaccinations yesterday (well, two days ago by the
time this goes out). Neither had had adverse reactions before, but Rocky I
would watch because of the insulinoma and classic adrenal signs. I waited
about half an hour at the vet's, Rocky seemed a bit groggy but nothing
unusual, drove the two miles back home and just as I pulled up to the
house, he started vomiting. So, without even parking I turned around and
went right back. He vomited several more times, wasn't panting, but did
let go his bowels on the table when he was being examined. He was treated,
we waited, he seemed stable, so we came back home.

He ate, drank, did ferret things.

Today, he was coughing like he had fluid in his lungs, about every half
hour, so they worked him back in, by the time I took him in, he hadn't had
a coughing spell in about an hour...and didn't for several more. His lungs
sounded clear, temp normal. The vet lives right down the block from me and
said to just call him if the coughing continued cuz he'd have amoxy drops
in the truck.

Rocky has coughed a very little bit, but is doing very well (tore the house
apart immediately from coming home from the vet) and I'm keeping a close
eye on him. Should be just fine tomorrow.

If I hadn't waited as long as I did, and didn't watch I may have been out
running errands or napping when he had started throwing up. So, though it
may seem inconvienent...WAIT with your fuzzies at the vet. Or, if you need
lunch, stay nearby. I live in a small town, and the vet here doesn't know
ferrets that well, and generally only does small things for me because
that's all he's really comfortable doing. But he's also close.... the
further you live, the longer you should wait.

It's definately worth it.

Rocky (who waves to Skeeter, who he could have been playing with)
Tempest (I've a lopsided head!)
Rosa (can I have a mouse?)
Buddy and Polly (how come we didn't get to go!)
