Yes, rice is available in enormous bags on the bottom shelves at the
supermarket.  I would caution you however to make sure the ferrets won't
eat the rice; a stomach full of dried rice will swell with water to
potentially fatal proportions.  This is why it's illegal in the US to
throw rice at weddings anymore; there were apparantly too many cases of
bird fatalities over the years.
