Jeff in LA LA land:
I have two ferrets that do the hiccup routine--Fuzzer and Add-A-Kiss. Both
seem to get them right after yawning, or hurriedly eating a snack. They
show no interest in drinking water, holding their noses and blowing out, or
standing on their heads. They *do* seem to like the idea of putting a
paper bag over their head (but they think they are then supposed to play in
it--and the hiccups don't stop). Getting them to hold their breath didn't
work, either. HOWEVER...(for dramatic effect!) I found that giving them
a small dab of hairball remedy (about half the size of a pencil eraser)
seemed to do the trick just fine! After getting the hairball remedy, the
hiccups stopped immediately! :) Hope this helps!
