Don't worry, your ferret isn't weird for chasing down and killing June Bugs.
My Winnie chases down and kills (and eats) WASPS!  Uf Da!  No harm to the
ferret, and it's actually a blessing to get rid of the wasps.  Oh - one word
of warning.  Make sure that he only eats bugs that he's killed.  This time
of year many municipalties spray insecticide to keep the biting bug
population down - and the toxic dose of pesticides for an animal as small as
a ferret has to be pretty small (anyone know how much), so just to be on the
safe side, don't let him eat dead bugs.
