My vet, while EXCELLENT in all other veterinary matters, has had to refer
me to other doctors when dealing with adrenal surgeries. I applaud his
putting concern for the critters over "keeping up appearances!" When he
referred me, I asked if he would like me to try to get him the ability to
observe or assist the other veterinarian, and he was VERY up on the idea!

Well, that little girl got adopted the VERY next day by someone
well-versed in adrenal and an appointment was made for her immediately ...
but it got me to thinking.

Now CFAR is seeking ferret-experienced veterinarians interested in
providing, as a community service, once or twice-yearly reduced-cost
clinics for (veterinary referred) adrenal surgery. It is suggested that
referring veterinarians may be interested in providing all or a portion
of the difference in costs (from standard pricing) in order to observe,
assist, and learn hands-on about this important and far too common
requirement of ferret medicine.

We are currently looking for not only vets interested in this program,
but also for rescuers & shelters and volunteers interested in setting
up a program like this locally. Other folks who are not local might be
interested in setting this up in your own communities ... not only to
cut surgical costs, but to get more ferret knowledge out there!

*And yes, we now have a ferret-surgery vet, too!*
