Lars asked a few questions:
 
We don;lt breed a jill unless she will be approximately one year old (or
more of course) by the time she gives birth.  The first strus may or maynot
co-incide.  We've had good luck with the hormone shots.  I guess the vet
visit is less traumatic than the breeding.  Some oflks claim the
vasectomized hob route is more reliable.  We only use the hormones if our
snipped hobs are 'non-functional'.  I guess Florida is too far away to use
one of ours....
