I have experimented with many ways to cut the nails of my ferrets.  The
easiest way for me is to have my boyfriend hold them by their scruff and I
cut the nails while they are calm.  I tried Ferretone and they moved too
much for me to feel comfortable clipping without hitting the quick.  It's
a tricky skill to lean and don't let the grumpy people on the list make
you feel stupid.  Give them a big : p .  It takes some practice but you'll
figure it out.  I hope my suggestion helps.
