Someone posted here that they were tired of us who complained about
receiving 'alleged hate mail'. They went on to imply that 'flame wars' were
fun for 'net addicts'. Speaking, only for myself, I do not agree. I cannot
claim to be a 'net addict'. I am, however, a ferret fanatic. I joined this
list because it is about ferrets. I know liitle about the Net, nor its
'netiquette'. I am a novice at all of this. I do know that I do not enjoy
receiving the opinions of those who choose to take a disliking to me or my
friends. We are simply trying to share the joys, sorrows and triumphs that
ferrets have brought into our lives. Some of you may enjoy your games,
maybe they are fun to you. I really don't know.

I ask you, for the final time, please leave me out of them. Please don't
write to me unless your letter has something to do with ferrets. I must
admit to you that I am an old man who is probably much too sensitive about
some things. My parents raised me to be respectful of the opinions of
others and to always find something good to say about them. I may be a
dinosaur in the cyber-age, but that is what I am. I cannot help being what
I am.

Someone pointed out that I should ignore unpleasent letters. This is very
easy to do when they are posted to the general population of the FML. It is
very hard for me to ignore them when they are addressed to me personally.
I'm old fashioned, I guess; I feel that I should read anything that someone
has taken the time, and effort, to write to me.

This is the final time that I shall write to anyone on this subject. With
apologies to a very great man, a brother of my ancestors, I quote, "From
where the sun now stands, I will fight no more, forever."
