 Hi all,

This is sort of indirectly ferret-related...

I wanted to invite all my fellow FMLers and ferret lovers to check out my
dad's website at:

http://www.bruceridesforpmc.web.com/

My dad rides in the Pan-Mass Challenge here in Massachusetts, a 110-mile
bike ride that raises money for cancer research at the Dana-Farber
Insitute.

My dad has helped a lot with fundraisers for ferrets through my ferret
organization, New England Ferret Foster, Education, and Rescue, Inc.
He has built us a large display board for our cross-stitch kits, crafted
some ferret "piggy-banks" that we sold, and done this with no labor or
materials cost. He doesn't own any ferrets, but has been supportive of my
efforts, and my group's efforts, to raise money to help homeless weasels!

He's also one of my few relatives who DOESN'T recoil, "Eww! Rats!"

I designed this website as a tribute to his past efforts as well as his
space to announce his participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge this year
and to raise money for pledges. He has to raise $1000 in pledges in order
to be eligible to ride (the past two years he has raised over $1000).
When people donate money towards his ride, they can make it in the name of
a loved one who has either fought or lost the battle with cancer. During
the 110-mile ride, he wears these names on his shirt. See past pictures
on the site!

For me, doing the website and helping him raise pledges is my way of
thanking him for the help he's given me and my goup in raising money for
ferret rescue. He's always been supportive of my ferret-mania and my work
with rescue and raising money for fuzzies. I wanted to repay his efforts
by showing some ferret-friendly people his website; and maybe the kindness
he's shown to homeless ferrets will result in him getting some pledges to
meet his goal for the 2002 Pan-Mass Challenge!

There are links on his website for anyone who wants to know more about the
PMC and the Dana-Farber Institute as well.

Thanks!
