Hi Everyone,
I have a question. We have our ferrets on a mix of Marshall's and Totally
Ferret which they seem to really like. We are working on switching to
TF & Ferret Store Superior Choice. Now our 2 boys are free roam in a
bedroom with full access to their cage. We have a cat that was adopted
before them in September that loves them and basicallly lives in the room
with them and comes out when they come out. He does not intermingle well
with our other cats as he is very timid but is great with the ferrets.
Now his dry cat food which is NutroMax is in the same room and I noticed
less food being eated by the ferrets. Last night I noticed that Gabriel
took a piece of cat food and ran off with it. Will this hurt him if he
is eating that? I don't know where to put the cat's food away from teh
ferrets. I have a dish of food in their cage which they come and go at
will and not have put another bowl of their food out. This morning though
the ferret food on the floor was dumped over and it appeared as though
they were trying to hide the dish. I have another crock type dish on
order and am in the hopes that they will not try to cart that one off to
a hidey hole. Micheal does not really bother with toys or hide them but
his brother Gabriel stashes every known toy in his castle in the cage or
in the sleeping bag to which 3 cat tunnels go in to. That brings up
another point. I read where adult ferrets(he is 5mo old) can get
possesive of hte kits and try to hide them. Is this something I need to
watch out for with a 5mo old who hides his toys? They will not be free
roam till they are a bit bigger.

Thanks to everyone for all the help that youhave given this ferret
novice :-).

My heart and prayers go out to all those too that have lost ferrets to
illness and have gone to Rainbow Bridge. My prayers go out to Donna and
I send a heartfelt prayer to his safe return. I know how it can be to
have a fur kid get out on ya and not know their whereabouts. Know in
your heart that he is safe and in loving arms.

Love & angel hugs
Debbie and her "furcrew"
