I had to laugh when I read Jen's post about "those parent questions".
 
I have three ferrets, two I got as kits at petstores and one I adopted
from a shelter when she was a year old.  When I tell others about them I
often explain that Jillie (the sweetest) is the one I adopted.  I have a
friend that likes to remind me that they were really all adopted, that I
didn't give birth to any of them (-:
