This sounds like the girls wanted to help out a ferret shelter and the
parents thought it wasn't a good idea! So what's wrong with donating to
a ferret shelter? Think we might want to write the reporter and VERY
NICELY tell him why we NEED to have support for the ferret-specific
shelters?

Don't flame the girls or do anything to make them think that it is a
good thing to avoid ferrets or ferret shelters. Maybe we can show the
PARENTS - and the reporter - just how much good $100 could do for a
ferret shelter.
