Dear Kym and FML,

I have active ECE in my house and the shed perion is not up yet.Lucy and
Ghost as were in a foster home as were several othere of my fur children.
I will not risk bringing anybody in here until the shed period is up. Lucy
and Ghost have never seen the inside of my shelter so I know that this had
nothing to do with ECE. They have also been on the same food for about 6
months. Kelly, the man who fostrs some for me has a bad habbit of not
locking his door. He went out of town on Saturday night and came back
Sunday afternoon. I checked on them Sat at &7:30 and all appeared fine.
When I went back on Sunday to check on them is when I found Lucy dead and
Ghost almost. We thought that I got to Ghost soon enough. On Tuesday she
seemed better. Poopies were no longer black so the internal bleeding
seemed to have stopped and her gums were no longer bleeding. But at 4:30
am Wednesday Morn. Kelly called to say that Ghost had died. Even the vet
who was there that night was very hopeful that we had gotten her through
the worst if it.

I was devastated. Still am trying to figure out what happened. Ther is a
possibility that some of the neighborhood teens saw him loading up the
snowmachine so they knew he would be out of town. Their symptons fit those
of something that has been poisoned with rat poison. We decided to ask the
vet to do a post mortem. We only have one vet here who will do a necropsy
but you could not pay enough money to me to take any animal to him, alive
or dead. He is a cold and uncaring man and I will not allow someone like
that to come near a pet that was so loved. We will be sending out tissue
samples if there is nothing conclusive found in the post.

Thank you all for you prayers and loving thoughts. It helps when you post
or write because most of you know what it is trully like to lose a fur
child. It is a different kind of pain. It is deeper than when I had to
put my kitty down after 15 years. It feels like the darkness gets a little
closer every time we lose one. They to me epitomize true joy and light.

Hug all you fur children a little longer today and be thankful for all
those that are still here to share your lives.
