Hey everyone! Let's share some fun ideas for fundraising to help support
our local ferret shelters. If you've thought of a good fundraiser to run
and then donate the money for a fuzzie organization, please post it!
Here are some of my thoughts:

For the Fuzzies Dinner:
Invite friends over for a special supper to support the fuzzies. Guests
can give a donation for your special fuzzie cause. Can't cook? Have a
Margarita Party! (have your ferret send the invite, they're better at
begging!)

Have a donation drive:
Request item donations from friends, neighbors, families, and coworkers.
Collect their old towels and blankets or new items (paper towels,
cleaners). Bring these items to your local ferret shelter.

Organize a shelter yardsale:
Collect unwanted items from friends (we all have stuff we need to get rid
of, get them to donate it for a cause!). Then host a yardsale and give
proceeds to a favorite shelter. Don't forget to post a sign at the sale
telling shoppers about your cause! Have a donation jar available (-:

Raffle a day of fun!
Getting tickets to a hot concert, play, or sporting event? Get two, then
have your friends buy raffle tickets to win the other ticket for a fun
day that supports the ferrets!

Host a hot date contest.
Have friends nominate who they think would be the hottest date (movie
star, singer, coworker, friend, etc). Everyone gets to vote on each
other's selections by putting money in that contestant's envelope. The
person who nominated the contestant that brings in the most money votes
wins a "hot date pack" (which can be fun silly items, or suggestive fun
stuff!). The winners of course are the fuzzies when the donated money
goes to their shelter.

Make items for your shelter's sale:
Is your shelter participating in any fundraising events? If so, make
some items that they can sell. Decorate a frame with paw prints, make
up baskets with ferret treats or toys.

Food for thought:
not crafty, bake some simple items (cookies, muffins) that the shelter
can sell at the food table. Invite friends over to help you create your
goodies. It's not slave labor, it's fun!

Please share your ideas on what you've done to help gather funds
or donations for your shelter!
