It's entirely possible, even probable that this will be just one of
hundreds who so-happened to tune in to the January 15th edition of NBC's
Today show and saw Ben Stiller being interviewed briefly by Matt Laurer,
and then going into the entire history of his original remarks which were
uttered in an attempt at being funny (he seemed to realize as soon as the
words were out that it went worse than flat as an attempt at humor) on
one of the Tonight shows with Jay Leno, and brought with him and read
on-air some of the deluge of e-mails sent to him about it.  (mention was
made about how much more organized the ferret lovers seemed to be than,
say, dog enthusiasts) He then accepted a ferret into his arms and gave a
long and detailed and sincere public apology which was sealed with a
gentle kiss to the ferret's little head.  Wow, what a great plug this
was for both ferrets and ferret enthusiasts everywhere!
 
Such was the impact that indignant ferret-owners have made that the
Gannet News release in our local newspaper of the description of "Along
Came Polly" showed Mr. Stiller holding a big chocolate-colored ferret
with the caption "Ben Stiller gets to be friends with a ferret in Along
Came Polly".
 
Hey, y'all ferret-folks!  You know what?!  You-all got some heavy duty
clout!
 
Anyway, if there are more than three messages on this Same thing, Mr.
Gruber please feel free to delete this one as extraneous, it just plain
feels good to be able to talk about this, even to just one person!  Not
just doggoned good, but Ferretly Fine! :)  [There are a few!  LOL.  BIG]
