Hello all I know it's been a while since you've heard about my Sean and
Rocky. For those of you that don't know Sean is my 8 year old son with
autism (that he has been emerging from in the past couple years), and
ferret touched him in a way that he emerged from his autism even further
this past year.

Well Sean is a huge baseball fan, doing score boards at his brother's
little league games and such for the past several years (my oldest little
league superstar should know the game as well as Sean really). But he has
sat on the sidelines all his life unable to participate in any social way.
With this year's great improvement, we decided he was ready to try the
special ed little league. Last year he was not even ready for this. Upon
trying we found out Sean was well beyond this league, and he begged for us
to try him in regular League.

After me vomitting, and having much reservation, we did and it worked out
fine. Wanna know a huge key?! We brought Rocky boy! Yup. Sean was shy
and not speaking. So I shoved Rocky in his arms, and then he followed me
up to the new coach and then up to the team. He was able to socialize
minimally with Rocky's help. We then brought Rocky each time til he was
used to the situation. Needless to say the kids were so bonkers over the
ferret, they never noticed that Sean was different. By the time Sean went
to ever actually play with them, they were used to Sean and his little
ferret....and it thus far has been accepted (the autism). Buying a tub of
bubblegum for the team would not have gotten these competitive, rough and
tumble little boys to accept Sean as much, let me tell you. Two parents,
and a brother by Sean's side did not give him enough confidence to walk
over to the situation....but Rocky did. Amazing.

Everyone sing now.... in ferretese..... "Let's go out to the ballgaaaame,,,
let's ...."

Well the situation with Rocky the ferret and baseball has gotten a bit
complicated. Daddy decided to show him off at my older sons game. uuuugh,
what did he get us into. We're talking the oldest league there in little
league. We're talking the competitive and best of the best. Well they won
that game. Can we say "superstitious"????

It's been too hot the last 2 games for the ferrets. Every time I'm
bombarded by little boys... "hey, is Mr. ferret here?! Is Rocky here?"
While announcing last game I actually heard our catcher say to hiself
(after making a throw to second and being a second to late), "The ferret
made me make that throw to third last time". I was scared that the whole
place could hear my head hit the table til I realized that I had turned
off the mic in time.

Kay everyone,,,,,,,, In ferretese... like the budweiser ferret...."Let's go
out to the baaaaaaalgammmmme...."
