Hi everyone! Someone was asking what the animal was they spotted on tv
the other day, said it looked like a huge ferret. I didn't see it, but
it sounds like a wolverine. They're not from Africa, which is where the
person thought the animal spotted was from, but they do look like huge
ferrets and are black and white. see this web site for pic:

Now, that picure was not of a black and white wolverine. It could also
have been a badger? Both are from North America, though. I'm not sure!

There also was a post asking if anyone else had ferret dreams. I have
anxiety dreams about my boys occasionally. When Smidgeon was a baby, I
had a dream that I left him with some friends while my hubby and I went
on vacation. When we went to pick him up, I was calling out excitedly
"Where's my Smidgy?" He came running down the hall, and as he got closer
I realized that he was all mangled- he was missing a foot, all bloody,
scratched up, fur ripped out in patches. I was horrified! I asked my
friends what had happened, and they said casually "Oh, he got out one day
and a cat got him". THIS WAS A DREAM- ANYONE ONLY HALF READING IT- DON"T
FREAK OUT! I have a terrible time thinking of what I'll do with the boys
when we do go on vacation this year! My hubby, Brian, had a dream when we
first got Gherkin. He dreamed that I left an electric razor on and it fell
on the floor and Gherkin went to sniff it and his nose got cut off. Brian
usually NEVER remembers a dream! Lastly, I had a dream just a couple of
days ago that I left S'much out loose in the house accidently when we went
to bed, and when I woke up he was no longer a light sable, looking exactly
like the ferret in the yellow ducky car in Jeanne Farley's book " Grin and
Ferret", but was completely black with a white mask and white whiskers! I
must say- he looked VERY cool!

Someone asked about towel rolling a few days ago. Someone may have
already answered this, but I'll answer, too, just in case. Since my boys
contracted ECE last November, administering meds has been a nightmare.
Since scruffing them was difficult and started to leave bruising on their
necks, my vet suggested towel rolling them. To do so- my hubby and I do it
together- fold a LARGE bath towel in half lengthwise. Lay ferret at left
end of towel about five inches from left edge and with top of towel just
under the ferret's chin line. One person holds the ferrets arms and legs
down flat while the other folds the five inches of towel from the left edge
over the ferret to the right, slighlty tucking ends under ferret. Make
sure towel is snug- these suckers can wiggle out otherwise! Roll ferret in
towel to the right tightly, keeping top edge of towel under the ferret's
chin line until you run out of towel. You should end up with a very
comical sight- you should only see the ferrets head and feet sticking out
of the towel! This allows you to prop the ferret up on your arm to
administer meds without them pawing at you. They will try to scoot up out
of the towel, so keep your hand from the arm holding the ferret up on top
of their head firmly to prevent this. Talented individuals may be able to
roll them by themselves- I am not so blessed! Hope that made sense!

One more note- Sandee was slightly annoying to me when I first started
reading the FML, but when my Smidgy died last November and with all of the
deaths posted recently, I have to admit that she was a great comfort and I
now look upon her posts fondly. Thanks, Sandee, for helping people deal
with a very tough, emotional time! :)

Love and dooks to you all- Dawn, Gherkin, Wookie, Nougat, S'much and
Sushi the pooch
Love to my Smidgy at the Bridge-miss you buddy!
