Congrats on your new baby!  A good way to fatten that little boy up is
some soup for the ferret's soul.  Here is the winning duck soup recipe
from Ferrets Magazine March issue:
 
Blend 1 can of sardines packed in oil with their oil and 2 to 3
tablespoons of uncooked, unflavored oatmeal (instant or regular) in a
blender with enough water to make it the consistency of cake batter.
Store in refrigerator; may be frozen.  Serve slightly warmed, like baby
formula.  Credit goes to Diane from Texas
 
There were several more recipes in the magazine, but this one seemed to
be the most easily prepared and high in protien.  If anyone would like to
get other recipes let me know.  Good luck from
