This indeed will be a hard week forfthe ferret, and a long time in
un familar surroundings. Add to that it sounds like this is a sole
ferret and will be in your home with other ferrets. This is a real
tough situation for the ferret.

I would like to suggest you try and find a space- say a bathroom
where the ferret can have it's own space for the week. It may be
a small space but it is then a free roaming space.

The first thing you may notice is the ferret by day 3 is not eating
or presenting with stress stools ( loose, off color) this will be
the first sign of a possible ulcer situation. Have the ferrets vet
information, also have the owners make arrangements with the vet for
treatment in their absence. You should get a letter from them in
writing authorizing permission for you to have the ferret treated
by it's vet.

Having items with the ferrets scent is indeed a good thing... but
un;less the ferret is familiar with your ferrets, the entire home
setting may seem overwhelming as the scent of all your ferrets will
intimidate.. especially if you are planning to house it in the cage
your ferrets previously occupied.

It is nice of you to offer a place so the ferret does have someone
watching out... but be aware as you are you may have some issues
due to stress during this time.

Fondly in ferrets,
