My apologies to all asking private questions for the better part of the
last week. I have been out of town, back in California. My mom slipped
and broke her hip. She is somewhat confused, but is otherwise doing
well. She has had a rough year. She now has more metal in her than I
do, but mine is in more places. ;-)

In other news, I had a small accident with my library. When I left to go
to California, I left so rapidly that I forgot to put away several ferret
references. I am building a comprehensive ferret index that compiles ALL
ferret references, regardless of source and date, into a single database
complete with keywords and abstracts. While I was gone, my ferrets
decided the top reference was a personal toy. They bulldozed it off the
table and after tearing several pages, decided it was a liter box. It
has been ruined and cannot be salvaged. The other references were
damaged as well, but I either have extra copies or they can be repaired.
The reference the ferrets destroyed was the Nov/Dec 1998 issue of Ferrets
magazine. What is ironic is that I have 2 or more copies of EVERY other
Ferrets and Modern Ferret magazine, except for this single issue. If
someone on the list has an extra copy of the Nov/Dec 1998 Ferrets that I
can buy, barter, or trade for, please email me.

Finally, my daughter Elizabeth, who used to frequently post to the
FML while she was still in high school, will be married May 22 to a
reasonably acceptable fellow, a firefighter. I'll be off line for
part of the week prior to and after that date.
