Dr. Williams assures me that Winston probably did not have
_The_ Green Slime Disease. I assure you that Winston had _A_ Green Slime
Disease.
Thanks to all who rallied 'round: I owe you much. To add to the
growing corpus of info on surviving nasty green diarrhea, here are the
facts in the case.
Hydration: forced about 6 cc's of Pedialyte on the poor blighter
every day, and water if he wasn't drinking. (This may be too much:
consult your dvm)
Medication: .2 cc's peptobismal every eight or twelve hours.
Antibiotics, to prevent secondary infection.
Nutrition: Duck Soup until it got to be too painful for him:
straight Sustical (about 12 cc's a day, force-fed) when Duck Soup made
him too ill.
Keep patient warm and dry, and try to get some sleep, yourself.
Patient is recovering nicely, had a miserable bath today, and has
gone back to work (as evidenced by the complete absence of socks in my
apartment.) He is eating and pooping normally.
Thanks again to those who helped: may you all have the courage to
one day look behind the couch and learn the awful truth.
