Attached is the new ferret that just came into the shelter tonight.... I
about cried.
 
They have had him since he was a baby... he is now 4 years old... and he
doesn't have a name... HOW SAD!  He is skin and bones and was eating the
wonderful Wal-mart ferret food.  His nails were so bad he had been
walking on them for a long time.  We clipped them before the pictures
were taken... I couldn't wait... he was in pain... his feet are red and
sore from walking on them with the long nails... NOT GOOD.  He is such a
sweetie..  wants to be pet and rubbed... I am sure his poor skin hurts.
 
Do you know what they were going to do with him?  These people that said
they loved him and that he was such a great ferret?  They were going to
put him to sleep!  Yep!  No surgery... put to sleep!  Why did they call
us?  Honestly I think it was because they found out that to put him down
was going to cost too!  They asked if we could help him... I said yes, we
would take him in for surgery but he was going to have to wait a little
until we raise the money for it because I don't have the funds... his
response was that they didn't have the money either!  I'm amazed I didn't
kick his butt out of my house!  But hay, they did offer to bring me the
cage... I said "no thanks"
 
He is going to need surgery... and soon.
 
I am going to be putting up stuff for eBay to raise some money for his
surgery in the next day or so.
 
Please keep him in your thoughts..
