I used to have a wild time trying to clean my fuzzies ears too until I had
to medicate them for ear mites.
 
The medication had to be refrigerated and I didn't want to use anything on
them that was ice cold.  So, about half an hour before medication time, I
tucked the small bottle behind my bra.  What a difference!  Not ice cold -
not too hot.  Warm makes all the difference.
 
Now I put a very small amount of ear cleaning solution in a small bottle and
warm it up prior to use - no problems.
