Okay, I admit I am a long-time "junk" paper reader... I won't try and
defend my habit... LOL

BUT, every once in a while it works out. A couple years ago the
National Enquirer ran those "Mike Tyson abuses animals" stories and
included a ferret mention. The paper is currently running articles
about people who abuse animals and get light sentences, and is
encouraging people to try and get the laws stiffened. Someone at
the paper is an animal fan.

Last night I bought the latest paper and was reading through for my
weekly bad-celebrity news, and when I got to page 24, nearly fell out
of my chair! There was a nice little blurb about Jeanne Carley's 2008
Ferret Calendar! It included a couple really cute pictures and was
very positive about ferrets.

I wouldn't normally ask, but good press is hard to come by sometimes,
so please, go out and buy the Enquirer this week (only) or at least
email them and say THANKS! For those of you high-brow folks who don't
read the Enquirer weekly, just remember this is a national newspaper
with a huge distribution (pretty much every supermarket, drugstore,
Walmart...), with millions of weekly readers who will see these
adorable pictures and might just get a positive image of ferrets.
