We have anew face at Ferret Wise tonight, a petite 5 1/2 mo old MF light
silver mitt ( blaze wannabe) we call Angel. Angel grew old in A NJ Petco
waiting for the home she hoped for.

The Ferret Wise van rolled expediently down to pick her up today ( Saturday
July 22nd) at the request of a Marshall Farms rep who arranged to have her
held by a concerned party -- as no NJ shelters contacted could take her.
She nipped for attention as the little ones were sold. The store clerks
pushed her aside and into the plexiwalls. She was called the "Biter" and
buyers were discouraged-- she was finally marked down to $59 on sale-- yet
another $59 ferret story -- and still no takers!!!

But Angel will now get the better side of life. Though for the short term
she is in a safe and secure shelter environment, we will work to make her
life fulfilling as a loving companion to a very special human.

Angel is a mild tempered, but skittish gal. Her nails had not been clipped
in goodness knows how long-- her feet were spread from trying to walk on
long curling nails. She was patient as shelter Dad trimmed the nails back
to make her ride north more comfortable, and no nips were even attempted.

She is presently being weaned off the Kaytee food fed at the store and
onto shelter mix. She will be observed and trained as necessary. Angel
is a delight to watch as she explores her new environment. She is a bit
skittish in new surroundings and will be quarantined for 15 days while we
sort out the paperwork and figure just which shots she has had. She will
get lots and lots of handling time-- and we will be ever so happy to find
the right home for adoptive placement when she is ready!
