My name is Kathleen and this is the first time I've posted to the FML,
but lately something has prompted me to write.  I work for PETCO as an
animal specialist.  Before anyone groans at the name, I can honestly and
only speak for my store-#706 Hicksville NY- we care greatly for our
animals.
 
Anyway, lately we have had several ferret"gifts".  People seem to think
they don't have to care for their pets!  one lady brought in 2 sweet
ferts that had been left in an apartment alone for 2 weeks without care!!
the landlord found them.  we rehabed them and adopted them.  But obviosly
that could have ended much worse.
 
I just want to reiterate this message- PLEASE DONT TAKE A FERRET INTO
YOUR LIFE WITHOUT COMMITING TO ITS WELLBEING- FOREVER!
