I received an e-mail from a woman in the Mat-Su area of Alaska who wanted
information about rabies in ferrets so she can help the Mat-Su animal
control establish a ferret policy.  Apparently, when the shelter receives a
ferret in the shelter, it is immediately put to sleep.  If you have a
shelter or if you know of a humane organization in the Anchorage area that
accepts ferrets, please contact me so I can let her know who she can talk to
with knowledge about writing a humane ferret policy for her shelter.
