I read a post on the FML yesterday stating that our fuzzies are supposed
to be shedding their summer fur and growing in their winter coats.......

And, being a new ferret owner, I really don't know what to expect with
this. But, my 9 month old fert, Trixie IS shedding...... a lot. We have
been brushing her to help remove the excess hair because our furniture
and clothing are HORRIBLY hairy. :) Anyway...... we got her brushed and
bathed............and she looks so skinny now without her full coat!!! It
scared me pretty bad to see her so thin............and I am wondering if I
should fix her a batch of chicken gravy (I've never tried giving that to
her) to see if she'd fill out a little.

But then again I'm worried because I've been warned that loss of weight
could mean hairballs.........so I'm going today to buy some hairball stuff
to see if that will help..........AFTER I try the ziplock baggy technique
and look for hair in her poop.

Wow..........how come being a ferret "mom" gives me a sense of being a
REAL "mom"? I don't have kids yet.........but being a ferret mom gives
me an idea of what to expect...........the constant attention, the care,
the patience, the love!!!! :) [... the poop. BIG]

Anyone have any chicken gravy recipes (duck soup) that I can have? I'd
appreciate it!!!

Love,
Shea and Trixie~butt
