Well, I'll follow Ela's lead and post on the 2 issues below:
 
Re:  Toilet paper tubes and ferrets
When my Spunky was younger, he used to play with tubes - 'til the day when
he'd grown a bit too big and got his head stuck in a toilet paper tube.
Luckily, we were in the bathroom at the time.  My son and I started to laugh
and quickly realized he was in trouble.  After shaking his head furiously,
we grabbed him.  It wouldn't come off, so I ripped it.  He had gone limp and
started drooling, so I gave him mouth to nose which brought him around
immediately.  Now it's a house rule - all tubes ripped open before
discarding.
 
Re:  Hunting with ferrets in the U.S.
I've heard that my father (as a teen ager) used a ferret for hunting; they
chased the rabbits out of their holes.  However, my Dad had passed away (as
did my grandparents) before I became a ferret parent, so I never was able to
determine the details.  They lived in Canandaigua, NY - a rural area of the
Finger Lakes.
