Go to the 'very young toddler' section of a store and buy those stuffed
animals made for babies.  Usually, these don't have plastic eyes or anything
more dangerous than a ribbon on them.  If you're confident yours won't shred
one, try the ones with the bells inside - perfect for being shaken by
ferrets.  we have a kitten that's become the crew's arch enemy - it's just
floppy terrycloth, pink and blue, with a nice happy smile on its face.  it's
roughly their size, and they think it's the greatest.  Washable, too.
