Well, as a wildlife biologist, ferret lover (I have 9.rescues all) and
film noir aficionado, it's time to weigh in here. Like many, especially
those who have chosen to leave California because of their ridiculous
rules regarding domestic ferrets, I have become somewhat , how shall I
say.sensitive to anything that resembles bad press for these lovable
little furballs. This commercial is in plain bad taste and needs to
be pulled immediately.even if it is a spoof. One responder correctly
noted that the movies spoofed are R rated and that youngsters cannot
be exposed to them in a mass form, however, in today's mass media
marketing society, they surely will merely by watching the good old
TV. And it will be again and again and again.

While the statement, subjective at best, of saying that ferrets attack
(and what constitutes "attack" anyway.mauling, fatality.nipping toes?)
more people than Grizzlies may indeed carry some weight (especially
when taken on a world-wide level..since "Grizz" simply aren't found
everywhere and domestic ferrets can be), the mere idea of one running
amok with a chainsaw is ludicrous, and for God's sake showing it
hacking off the woman's limb is just over the edge.that should be saved
for something like South Park, not a general commercial that will air
hundreds of times a week.

My wife came in and previewed the commercial and her comment was.this
society has fallen to a new level, where video game violence is now
going to be portrayed in commercials and it will be seen as OK by the
youth that engage in far bloodier games on the net or on PlayStation.
What a "decaying society" this is to accept such marketing as
mainstream and OK.

Nuff said, my letter is going in to PepsiCo today.

Putorius and the tangle of 9.the other 12 over the bridge fondly
remembered every day.
