At long last, I have found my ferrets. After many e-mails and trips to
pet stores, Jan from the Gimmee Shelter, located near Cape Cod in
Massachusetts, responded me to my e-mail request for a Silver Mit. She
indeed had a ferret that was a Silver Mit, but she came in a group with
two other female ferrets. The Mit's sisters are a dark eyed Albino with a
silver tale and a beautiful (and frisky) Blaze. I decided I couldn't pass
up the opportunity and while I never expected to get more than 2, I now
have three great ferrets who seem to be very happy romping around in the
large area I have cleared away for them.

I decided to name the albino Noma (like the Boston kids on Saturday Night
Live say Nomar), the blaze is Gatsby (even though it wasn't my favorite
book, that has to be the best name ever), and the silver mit already had
a great name, Ariel, so she will be keeping that.

I'll be working on a website soon to showcase these pretty ladies. I want
to thank Jan for the her great work with the ferrets at her shelter and the
way she handles possible new owners. Jan provided me with lots of reading
material and even gave me some of the food the ferrets have been used to
eating until I can track down a stores that sells that brand. Thanks.
