So, we took our two one-year-olds to the vet recently. We're going
back in about 2 weeks for the booster(sp?) distemper shots, in the
meantime I have a few questions:
first, the vet found they both have ear mites! :(. How dangerous are
ear mites? Considering they didn't seem to bother kids so far, and now
they're getting treatment.. Also, sinse now we learned the importance
of ear-cleaning, what's the best brand of ear-cleaning chemicals for
ferrets? or maybe you can suggest some less expensive solutions? How
often should we clean their ears?
Second, our little girl, Podo, has a kind of a bump on her lower lip;
she's had it sinse we bought her in June '98, and it didn't seem to
bother her at all. The vet said she's missing her front bottom teeth,
and obviously her lip lining grew out into this lump. The vet said she
wouldn't recommend operation, as long as the bump doesn't change (grow
bigger, start to bleed, etc). But she also said, sinse Podo has this
minor defect, it is theoretically possible she might have others, less
obvious. What's everybody's opinion on this?
Whew.. that's all the questions I can think of right now. I'll
appreciate any input you might have! Thanks in advance!
