I was just notified by Sue that Deb in MN sent a box of gifts for GCFA,
and in there were gifts for Mini-Me and Me!!

I feel like it is my birthday. Well-it IS my birthday. I am now
officially----
****older than dirt****

Thank you Deb. I will wait for the show to pick them up. I have been
celebrating my advancing years, fat, and wrinkles for 3 weekends now
with different friends and family members.. Why not just make it 4????
Whoooopppieee Cayyeeeaaa!!!! I hope it is not a birthday cake. Already
eaten a quarter of 3 cakes in 3 weeks. Even my fat clothes are cringing.

And I have now black sequined sun glasses with fixodent and pills and a
small grave stone and a skull and the words "older than dirt" written
across the top of the glasses. This is SOOOO me.

If I can remember to bring them to the show, I will wear them there.
That way I can be close to blind, arthritic, senile, AND easily spotted.

Thank you Deb. My neice will be at the show, and it will be really
exciting for her to pick up the gift at the GCFA table. I cannot wait
to see!!

Thank you for helping this shelter with way too many ferrets.--thanks to
SO MANY of you blessed lovely unselfish caregivers-- these little ones
now have snuggly sleep hidey holes, heavenly hammies, and plastic bags to
play in.

For those of you who have been to the shelter- I know you leave in a kind
of shell shock. It is really hard to imagine this place. The flooring
is coming up. The cages are piled up and crammed in every inch of space.
The toil is ceaseless. The phone keeps ringing. More people come in
with ferrets.

But you walk into this store front off of a dusty lonely street. And you
step into the light of a loving shelter. The tenderness is palpable.
The devotion is spiritually uplifting. The laughter and the smiles and
soft voices make you want to stay.

When you leave, you know that you will never forget this place. There
are great things going on here.

Thank you everyone.
Lisette
