*hand waving* i'm a vegitarian ferret owner.  i cut out red meat for the
most part several years ago, then back in july decided to take the plunge
and become total vegetarian.  (although i continue to eat dairy products.)
 
I did this for several reasons:
   1. i simply lost my taste for meat.
   2. i feel it is a more healthy lifestyle, IF you continue to eat properly
      and get enough vitamins.
   3. i love animals too much to, er...eat them. (sorry to be so blunt.)
 
while i feel it is the right choice for me to be vegitarian, i agree that
ferrets should remain carnivores.  i certainly don't have a problem with
giving my ferret meat-based food.
 
what ever keeps them happy and healthy is ok with me. :)
