Having a couple of sick ferrets has made me aware of a great need for a
new ferret product... One of my sick guys goes limp when scruffed, but the
other does NOT. This of course means that whenever I do something Mean And
Nasty to him (such as making him take his amoxi-drops :) ) he can still
push/scratch my hand away will his 4 paws, and squirm frantically in a desperate
attempt to escape. This makes medicating him a 2-person job, unforunately. I
therefore think that there is a need for a ferret straightjacket! :) Now,
before anyone gets upset at me, I don't mean something that would keep a ferret
contained for very long (we all know that would be nearly impossible!), just for
about 30 seconds or so - long enough to stick a syringe in his mouth or for a
vet to give him a shot! (grin)
I'm actually somewhat serious here - it would be really nice if I could
come up with a way to hold him still for about 5-10 seconds at a time, so that I
could medicate him by myself (especially since my husband was supposed to go
away for a couple days early next week, but now may have to cancel - there's
simply no way I can medicate Fez myself, and he needs to stay on the amoxi
through the week). If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to them...
Scruffing is plenty for the other one, but Fezzik requires at least 4 hands at
the moment...
