Dear fellow FML'ers,

Having worked in the pet and shelter industry before moving to the VI,
I have definitely noticed a trend in characteristics associated with
certain ferret breeders. Reading yesterday's FML with the post about
the Rainbow ferrets has prommpted me to ask you all, who are located
across the country, for some input.

I purchased a large albino male in October (White Boy) at a local pet
store. My other two remaining ferrets, Munchkin and Tucker, also came
from this shop. Munchkin is tagged with two dots (Marshalls obviously).
Tucker has none, although he was purchased at the same time. I believe
they were used in a local travelling petting zoo, so their ages are
uncertain. I believe Tucker to be older. Tucker is as laid back as they
come, with a big build and a "bulldog" face. I've always assumed he
was a Path Valley from my experiences with others from this breeder.

White Boy however, is a different breed. I assumed he was around
4-6 months when I got him, based on his energy level. Even still,
he doesn't unwind until at least an hour after the other two put
themselves away, and sometimes I put him back wound up because I need
to sleep. He is large, and has been since I got him. He has a long
build, but a slim face, proportioned almost like a giant Marshall's
girl. He is mouthy, and likes to nip and try to drag me under the
futon, table, etc. He holds his own with the 16 pound cat, who has
a tendency to play rough, and anihilates the 8 pound cat, until she
retreats to a high lookout to curse him out. He does not like to
cuddle, but I force him to submit to holding at least once a day. The
pet store charged me...brace yourself...$390 for him. They said the
breeder had recently raised the prices. Now mind you, all ferrrets
have to be shipped to the VI, and that alone adds at least $100 to the
price, but what breeder has raised their prices recently? He is healthy
as an ox, and although he sounds kind of like the RWE ferrets, I don't
think his build matches that of those I've seen in the pictures.

Anyone have any ideas on his pedigree? Curiosity is killing me, because
I would love to see another of his kind, maybe a girl.

Here's a link to my photosite
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sara_gennusa/ ...go into the pets set and
there are pictures of all three for comparison.

Any feedback would be great!!!

Sincerely,
Sara and the three Musky-teers
