Sounds like you could listen to your own advice. As far as I can tell
there was NO reason for you to include your comments on people writing in
''endless drivel'' except to be mean. That comment had no relevance to
your argument about inexpensive ferrets. I personally thought this comment
was more mean than anything people posted to the list about the cost of
inexpensive ferrets.

There are a lot of things on the list that I don't read. But I know that
some people do. It is probably very enjoyable for some people to write
in about their ferrets and it is probably also very enjoyable for their
friends to read their posts. Just because you think it's stupid doesn't
mean that they should stop doing it. You probably hurt of a lot of very
nice people's feelings; many of whom would more than likely never even
dream of posting a flame.

I would recommend just skipping the posts you find uninteresting while
keeping in mind that not everyone has that opinion.

As far as someone wanting to get a less expensive ferret. Like you said,
there's not really anything wrong with that is there? As long as they know
that the purchase price of the ferret is not by a long shot the end of the
expenses. A lot of people tried to point this out in their posts. What's
wrong with that?

You have to realize that a lot of the shelter operators on this list have
seen a lot of ferrets in very bad shape and owners who got the ferret cheap
(or even not cheap) then don't want to pay for vet care or proper food.
Nobody on this list is that kind of person, but you have to realize that
there are an awful lot of people out there who are. It's sad that it has
to be that way, but you can't blame the people who are involved in a lot
of ferret rescue work for being cynical can you?
